Tax Credits Overpayment

I wonder if any of you can help.
We have had a letter claiming we have been overpaid. But its impossible as we haven't received hardly anything for the last year an a half.
We had a dispute with tax credits for the year 2014/2015, for an amount of £1576.54
which we won. As at January 2016 we still owed £173.19 which we were told would be collected from what we should have received, (around £10 odd a week), which should have been cleared over the next 17 weeks. So we were receiving nothing.
In July one of the kids dropped off as she finished full time education, so with our household earnings we weren't entitled to anything. My partner informed HMRC of this as she does about any changes
So we have had our letter for this year and they claim we owe £1,150.12. How is this even possible?
The breakdown is as follows:
Amounts Overpaid up to 5 April 2016 £613.75
Amount overpaid from award period 06/04/2016 - £963.44
Total £1,577.19
Already collected £350.43
Total £1,226.76
Collected from later awards £76.64
Total £1,150.12
I'm utterly confused as to what they have done. How can we owe so much when we have hardly received anything for a year and a half? And to fight this we need to know what it is that is wrong.
Any help gratefully received.

You'd be best providing the full breakdown of the award or calling them to discuss.0

You need to post all of the figures so we can see where the 963.44 came from.
