My son in law took the two little dogs for a walk and Lexi the Jack Russell trod on a wasp and got her paw stung. Simon managed to get the sting out but she was a very sorry for herself little dog.

We bathed it in vinegar and a few cut off pieces of the lamb joint helped in her recovery no end:)
Poor little girlie - I've only even been stung once (and discovered I'm allergic!!) and I can still remember the Worst Pain I Have Ever Experienced; forty-five years later it still makes me go cold remembering it. I hope Lexi is feeling a lot better by now.

I've been to the optician this morning, so that's all three medical appointments now done, thank goodness. Only a very slight change in my right eye, so no need for new specs, thankfully (I couldn't have afforded them and that's all there is to it). They had trouble doing all the tests - first of all they couldn't get my wheelchair up to the machine where they puff air into your eyes, then they had trouble getting the retinal photographs - I was well stressed by the end of it! Still, that's over for another year.
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

    Hello x
Sorry not to have posted for ages but black dog has been wagging his tailing my direction! I still have my beautiful two white doggies who are my life but Molly is now very old and I worry she may not be with me forever - oh if only they lived longer !

Anyway hugs and I hope to post more regularly but I am reading and cheering you on from the sidelines x
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

Nice to have you back Molly.

I'm at DD's for the next three days puppysitting because DD has to be in the office all day. She's a real sweetheart though and apart from that puppy curiosity to chew everything in sight is no trouble all.

We had some bad news from Sis-i-l, one of her best friends (who we also knew quite well) has died. This is on top of one of her sons good friends being found dead on Friday - only 40 as well.
  • Thank you everyone for thinking about my dad! <3

Surgery went well and he's home now! His knee is still sore but feels much better compared to pre surgery (well without a meniscus that's been torn for a while it makes sense :D). I'm very tired though since I've been up since 5AM and been constantly working / walking and my knees hurt as well :D I'll probably spend the evening next to my parents on the couch. ;)

Very late today and excuse me for not mentioning particular posts, but good wishes and gentle hugs to everyone experiencing sad or bad things at present, I will have a proper read of posts later and try and concentrate my thoughts towards each of you.

Out early doors for 8 weekly injection and one of those mini MOTs very good cholesterol results, BMI up to 19 which she said is nudging in just short of being underweight (due to illness) and BP fine. I eat very small meals and trying to gradually eat more, but in order to keep the calories up eat meat, chicken, fish, cheese eggs and lacto free milk often, so happy to get total cholesterol level under 4, they did not seem to include blood sugar today, perhaps they are being paid for different things this time:D

    Evening all
Nice to see you Molly, hugs to Csarina and anyone else in need.
Very late post from me, it's been a very busy day.
I dropped CHS at work at 6:30, went to the big Tesco to buy small washing basket, two black t-shirts to work in, stationery for new job and milk.
Went from there to DD's to collect 2 dgd's, took them to MacDonalds and the Range and bought them a few bits and pieces.
Then took one home at her request and the other one came back to the boat to feed the ducks.
Took her home at 3 and collected CHS.
We've eaten and are now chilling.
    Have a good evening everyone.
    Hugs Hester
    Chin up, Titus out.

Well - no BT / Openreach /Wholesale engineer turned up! Phoned BT and got a lovely older Yorkshire chap who spoke to me for 45 minutes. Turns out that the appointment was booked, but not properly. I am angry as an angry things as I rang BT this afternoon to check that someone was coming and was assured that all was well.

Anyway, Duncan (as he was called) did lots more tests and confirmed that the fault was outside the house and I don't need to be here after all. We also agreed a £30.00 credit as compensation. Fault to be fixed by end of business Wednesday - but I'm not holding my breath. As I've found this very useful FON connection things aren't too bad.

I went into college this morning and twiddled my thumbs for two hours. Still couldn't do anything productive and found, to my horror, that all the folders and documents on my desktop were gone, for ever. The IT dept upgraded the uni's PCs to W10 and MS Office 2016 which lost everything not saved on the shared drive. Not my best day but nothing life changing so not complaining....too much! :rotfl:

Managed to offload an unwanted bottle of gin to a neighbour. I know, it's difficult to understand! This gin was too sweet for my liking and was just taking up cupboard space so I'm happy that it can be drunk, not sure it will be appreciated but that's OK, I have room for another one now.

Molly - how lovely to see you posting again!

Hester - your new life is coming together well. Not long until you're fully retired and fully occupied too.

The rain has just arrived. No change there then.

    Evening all.

It's been a while but the time has come to stop being lazy and get back to OS ways. Obviously first stop is here then the grocery challenge.
We have a freezer full of reductions so I haven't lost the OS totally, just needs a bit of fine tuning again, and it means we'll be good for a store cupboard month in the People's Republic of North Wales.

It's been terrible weather here and it's pretty chilly which has helped me stay in and crack on with some uni work - I only have two essays left until the end of my first year so it's a blessing in disguise even if DH is eyeing up the heating switch :rotfl:

Hope everyone is as well as they can be and look forward to seeing you all again soon :)
