Citifinancial PPI Claim

Hi, I've been trying to reclaim ppi from Citifinancial from an account back over 2000-2003. Citifinancial keep saying in their replies "account number not recognized". The number was given to me by stepchange whom I had a dmp with back over those years. Has anyone had this problem, or do you know what company citifinancial may of used back then to collect debts. It's annoying as the credit was originally with The Associates but Citifinancial took them over. Any help would be great, thanks .

Sounds like, 17 years on, they no longer have records of this finance. This is not unusual when there has since been a takeover.

Even if there were records, any interest or other amounts written off as part of the Debt Management Plan could and would be clawed back from any redress you might win with a successful PPI complaint.

Probably best to forget about this one...
