I don't have a heated airer Missy but I think it might help you! Just don't tell OH and I bet he wouldn't even notice with him not being there :rotfl:. If it would help you massively to keep on top of the washing etc do it ha!!! Such a bad influence aren't I?!

    Have a lovely Sunday x

Good idea mummytogirls.... if it lived in the sunroom over the winter and when not in use was hidden behind the other airers, I'm sure he wouldn't notice ;)

Mine takes the chill off the bathroom or empty bedroom nicely.

I've unpacked all my winter clothes, packed away the summer ones, weeded out the stuff I don't want to keep, washed the cleaning cloths and hung them on the line where they will probably be rained on, and have some clothes in the WM now. Just having lunch and then back to tidying/packing up - prioritising finding something for the CS stuff to go in so I can shove it in the car.

Don't tempt me mummytogirls! I don't need any encouragement!!!! I bet he would know, he's got an app where he can see the monthly usage lol

Just realised the towels need washing as smell all funky, so will save that for tomorrow and the dark wash that needs doing. Small ones are showered, I need to remake their beds now, then jump in the shower myself, ironing can wait until I'm home as should be home by 8 at the very latest. Have so much washing to sort, but will try and do it tonight/tomorrow.

I love it how everyone's got their plans for October sorted. I always feel really motivated at the start of a new month - unfortunately the feeling wearscoff after a few days.

I haven't got a tumble dryer. Mr SA put me a washing line up in a covered area outside where he keeps his scooter.

I would be tempted to delete your hubby's app :)

Greenbee has a heated airer thing (from Lakeland iirc) and it doesn't cost that much to run - or she wouldn't have one :p

Also a dehumidifier is cheap to run, but improves temperature without heating on and sucks water out of the washing nicely. We use one in the cold/damp bit of the house and it means SS doesn't run his bedroom heater 24/7. Think it was c£100 but it has paid for itself.

Are you implying I'm tight? :p Just because my friends bring extra layers and furry slippers when they come doesn't mean my house is cold... I've just put two loads of washing on the heated airer in the spare room with the door shut and the window open on the night vent.

Agree with the dehumidifier too. Actually, one of the things I like about the nest thermostat is that it tells me the indoor humidity so I don't worry so much about it.

I've just walked to the bottle bank (mostly to get out of the house). The rain has arrived now, so I can't get anything done outside (there is deadheading, weeding, planting and clearing the stream to do as well as mowing and clearing round the new trees). I guess I'll just have to get on with more tidying and packing up. Next on the list is to pack away all the spare bedding and get the beds tidied up so I can store stuff on them and cover it all up with old bedspreads to minimise the dust.
  • I always put my wet washing on an clothes rack in our conservatory when I can't hang it out. I agree with redfromstart I also have a dehumidifier that I brought for £100 from amazon. I am always amazed at how much water it collects. It definitely makes the conservatory temperature higher I wouldn't be without it. The washing dries a lot quicker.
