How long have you been working for? Contribution based ESA maybe a possibility then your inheritence wouldn't make a difference.

Been working 6 weeks it would be income support and carers allowance I would be claiming when I give up work

I'm guessing you claimed Income support before the Inheritence and stopped claiming this when you had the inheritence?

I stopped my claim for income support when I started work then I received the inheritence while I have been working

    Do you own your home?

£20,000 is a lot of money to spend in six weeks, even if you weren't reliant on benefits. Do you have receipts for all your spending?

Would you class the expenditure as reasonable given that you were more than likely going to be claiming IS again in the near future? I'm assuming your arthritis has not suddenly become severe in the past six weeks.

Even though you recieved the money after you stopped claiming income related benefits, it could still be classed as deprivation of capitol in order to obtain benefits. To spend £20,000 in less than 6 weeks is an insane amount of money. DWP will ask to see bank statements when putting in a claim for the Income Support. It almost seems like you had to stop your income support claim because you had the inheritence, then decided to work part time.

And don't have all receipts but surely when I make a claim if I have to give up work it should just be what I have in my account at the time of making a claim

In the last 6 weeks you have gone from claiming Income Support, to recieving an Inheritence of £30,000, you then worked part time and spent £20,000 in those 6 weeks. Now you want to claim Income support again? Seems like to me that the reason you stopped your claim to begin with was because of the money. If this is the case then yes they would look at the inheritence. You will need reciepts to prove you didn't spend the money in order to reclaim Income Support.
