HFC/PC World PPI reclaim problems.

Hi everyone. In 2007 my partner and I bought a computer on finance from PC World, I specifically remember the sales person telling us we would be virtually guaranteed credit if we took PPI. When handed the form to apply the box was already crossed as part of the form.
Only recently did my partner remember about this PPI and we decided to reclaim from HSBC/HFC. HSBC supplied me with conformation there was a PPI policy and also provided the account number, I then opened a compaint via the HSBC web form. Today I recieved a response basically saying it has nothing to do with them as it was taken out after 2005 and to contact Dixons Carphone plc. They are sending me an account statement to send with my compaint to Dixons.

Has anyone else successfully claimed from Dixons?

I feel like it is going to go back and forth until I have to contact the FOS who wont be able to help if it is Dixons I need to claim off.

It hasn't gone back and forth.

They're just directed you, correctly, to make your complaint to the party who sold it to you.
  • Ok I will await the account statement and contact Dixons as they advised. I read older posts from people saying they kept batting the claims back to each other.

Thank you for the quick reply.
