Ill health SSP, PIP and ESA and holiday

Hi,
My dad has been recieving SSP since 4th Jan, and currently this is due to end. His employer has provided a form to apply for ESA. They have not informed if they are terminating his employment. He will not be going back to work due to ill health and is recieving the highier PIP payments for care and mobility.
1) Did he accure holiday during SSP. Is this payable by the employer.
2) When he moves to ESA does he accure holiday. Is this payable by the employer.
3) Is there a timeframe for his employer to ask him to retire due to ill health.
4) Can his still claim working tax credits while on ESA as technically he is still employed.
Thank you in advance.

He continues to get holiday entitlement for as long as he is employed.Lost my soulmate so life is empty.
I can bear pain myself, he said softly, but I couldna bear yours. That would take more strength than I have -

As Torry says he continues to accrue holiday while employed and he is entitled to be paid this.
The form he has been given is probably an SSP1 which confirms the date his SSP will end. He needs to claim ESA and the DWP will need the SSP1 as evidence that he is not entitled to SSP. Will also need to provide GP sick notes (called Fit Notes!)
Note that he can receive holiday pay at the same time as being entitled to ESA - it is the ending of SSP that triggers entitlement to ESA. If he is entitled to contribution based ESA this will not be affected by the holiday pay, if he has income based ESA then the holiday pay will be taken into account as income.
He will no longer be entitled to Working Tax Credits when SSP ends. Entitlement is not based on being employed but on working but you are allowed to continue to claim for 28 weeks after becoming ill which matches the period of SSP. He must tell HMRC about his change of circumstances.
Can't answer question about termination of employment. If he has no expectation of being able to return to work he may prefer not to have to periodically report back to his previous employer anyway.Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.0
