Well, it's pre-regulation, they won't have any details, and probably neither will you, so....pretty much no.

I was successful from around 12, possibly 13 years ago. In fact I was paid 2,5 k in January this year, I complained via the Barclays website. I'd tried before and it was refused but I found more info later and asked them to look again which they did and this time it was upheld.

I dont have a clue, its got to be 15+ years ish - some PPI company suggested that if i had a CC its a go-er, it seemed to be an EGG specific thing....just wondered :-)

I'll let you know if it comes to anything

My Egg card was over 15yrs ago, and I had success claiming. I used a tool on Which.
I've just got two cheques from Egg via Barclays I used this tool, and got a quick response plus also they found another card linked to the one I was claiming for so got in total £3,300 back, only took less than 6 weeks to sort out..

    good luck

given your credit file shows 6 years, is there anyway to check what cards I had historically? I know for a fact I had an egg card, but I think recall a goldfish one I think, and an MBNA one as it was a man utd one....but going back to my younger years I always had one....

    None whatsoever.

Your credit history is not in the public domain and only by approaching each lender individually (or having kept copious archives of your own) are you likely to find out who you had historical finance with. Claims Management companies are similarly unable to research your history.
