What would you do

What would you do if you have received the winning prize but values were significantly less than they advertised? I once received £125 value goods for supposedly £200 Bauer Media Group comp. I didn't do anything that time just appreciated what I have received but happened again from another company comp received £300 worth goods against the what they said for £500 . Shall I just say nothing?:o

I won a £100 Vegan Hamper the price of the goods that came was less than £50 so I emailed the company providing the prize asking if there would be a second delivery, and got no reply.
I left it a week and emailed again saying I had not received my full prize and again received no reply.
I then emailed the company running the competition to explain what had happened and for a third time got no reply, so I just left it.

Yes, it is nice to have a win, but I also think we deserve to receive the advertised prize.

I think as compers if we keep just accepting what arrives we will get fobbed off more and more.

I would at least try emailing the companies involved.

I think a lot of the time the prize is advertised as being 'worth' x amount, but it wouldn't necessarily cost that. The worth is inflated to bump up the attraction of the prize.

I was frustrated because all the goods are still available from their website ( selling original products - nowhere else available) so I added up RRP price and came up £300. I can't understand how they can claim worth £500.

£200 is a lot to miss out on, I would definitely try a polite email to the prize provider/competition host. ;)

I think sometimes it's down to the RRP which is usually way above the selling price so it looks like they're offering you a bargain if you're shopping but also means they can say we're giving £xxx away but when you add it up it's a fraction of the total.
It doesn't hurt to ask though. At the moment they think you're fine with it, if you contact them they'll know you're miffed & then they've got to decide whether to make you happy or P you off! I know what I would do if I was in PR! ;)
