Haart insist I see their broker before a viewing.

Tried to arrange a viewing today with Haart. They said that the vendor wants everyone to see their broker before viewings. I already have a DIP (which involved a hard credit check) from my bank, and am happy with the rate and fees.
Is there anything I can do other than stick a note through the vendors door. If the vendor is "insisting", I don't think they've thought it through. I'd never sell with an agent that wanted financial details before an acceptable offer had been put forward.

I very much doubt the vendor said any such thing. A search of the forums should reveal who to address a complaint to if you feel so minded.
Or alternatively go and waste an hour of your life with their broker..0 -
I'd do the note through the door, telling the vendor that they have missed out on a viewing and possible sale because of the actions of their agent - I doubt very much if the vendor is the one doing the insisting.0

It's very unlikely the vendor has said this, however it may be that the vendor has asked (or more likely been persuaded) by the EA that they will validate the buyers finances.
So, you have three choices,
1. Note through vendors door giving contact details and asking if they really are insisting that all buyers must see the EAs broker, as you've been told. If not I'd be livid if I was the vendor. And then follow up with a complaint in writing.
2. Go and see the broker, show them your DIP stonewall other questions and then follow up with a complaint in writing,
3. Go with the flow and ignore their recommendations and then follow up with a complaint in writing.0 -
check which ombudsman scheme the EA belongs to, and complain there.
Maybe best to follow Haart's internal complaints process first?
Plus letter through the vendor's lettter box explaining
a) you're a serious buyer
b) you have financce in pplace and
c) Haart is refusing you a viewing
edit: they belong to https://www.tpos.co.uk/
and ther legal info says:Codes of practice
