Proof of address and ID for Solihull housing

My partner has come first on the bidding list for a 1 bed flat (even though he has two kids , teenage boy and young girl with a court order to have them 50/50 share with there mother but I digress) .

He needs to see the council people next week and take two forms of ID.
I'm a bit worried though as he is homeless he has been stopping here there and everywhere .
His provisional ID is in one address, his benefits is in another address and his bank account is in the same address as his provisional.
Will this matter or do they have to be in the same address?
The ID and bank address is a Birmingham location and h benefits one is Solihull- it's a Solihull housing he is with so now he's panicking he will miss out on this place cos his addresses aren't the same?
It's been so hard the last 18 months being homeless and having to have the kids stop in other people's houses too - he really needs this place, will they understand his situation or will they reject him because of this?

  • Best to phone and ask. With my local housing department I was able to use an out of date passport, birth certificates and take in benefit letters once I'd changed the acddress on them after moving. This was all for Housing benefit purposes in my case. I think all Housing themselves wanted was the passport (photo ID) and birth certificates.

But best to ask on what they need and alternatives they will accept as different places ask for different things.
