Cashbacks and downgrading
Most cashback deals seem to require that you wait 120 days before downgrading your mobile deal. Most providers have their own rules that extend this period, usually till 6 months.
If after this specified period, I downgrade my monthly contract, will I still be entitled to cashback at the originally agreed rate, or will the cashback correspond to the new monthly charge?
Does anyone really know where we stand on this?
Thanks,

I think a lot of cashback companies are changing their t&c so that you have to stay at the same tariff for 12months.
I'd suggest you read the t&c very carefully and print them out in case needed later if you have trouble getting cashback and you have to take it further with trading standards, etc.
I believe voda insist you stay on the same tariff for 12months but I know o2 only stipulate 6months. I've got a o2 contract from mobileshop but having received the phone/contract, etc I read the t&c (before breaking the seal of the phone) that came with the contract, it stipulated I had to stay on the same tariff for 12months to remain elligible for cashback.0 -
Just saw your post after posting something similar, my Orange OVP deal from onestopphoneshop will still pay me cashback if I downgrade (http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?p=552458#post552458) just e-mail them asking a similar question to mine, or phone them (but if you do, make sure you ask for a confirmation letter (by post ideally) so they can't change their minds later
