Entering competitions and clicking back?

Right at the risk of sounding really thick may I ask, when you enter a competition on this forum and you click on the link it does not open a new page therefore once Iv entered the competition successfully I click to go back on my computer to the forum, will my entry still successfully gone through??

Probably, but if you right click on a link it brings up options to open it in a new tab or window, there are other ways to do this but that is my preference.0

yep, it used to open the page in a new link, it stopped for some reason recently, i hate it! none of my green ticks stay coloured! you can right click on the link and open in new link or drag and pull the link into a a new tabCompers challenge 2024 wins!!!!....0

if you right click or ctrl click on the link it will opne in a new tabproud gran to 4 lovely boys and one little girl0

if you successfully enter a comp before pressing back, going back will have no impact on your submitted entry. You will still have entered.
As others have said, right clicking or control clicking to open in a new window or tab would be better practice going forward.0 -
I press shift and click on the link to open in a new window rather than tab as I open lots of comps in tabs (right click from list and choose 'open link in new tab'). Gives them time to open properly and just seems quicker to me as it's more of a production line than doing one at a time from the list of comps. I add crosses to the ones I don't want to enter. As soon as I have a big chunk of them to enter, I clear them then start on the next block.
It's an easy habit to get into and makes life much easier I think2024 wins: *must start comping again!*0 -
Agree with the others too This is what I do on my computer! It felt strange to do at first but now I don't even think about opening new tabs and just do it.
One thing I want to ask to anyone who might have an idea, when entering competitions on my iPad through Safari, I just use the clicking through the links without opening new tabs then pressing the back button to get back to the forum as it's super quick. On a small amount of websites after my entry has submitted, a Safari box comes up on the screen with a "Resubmit page" button when I try to click back and won't let me get back to the forum itself without hitting resubmit on the entry page.
I'm guessing this would be it trying to resubmit the form I have just filled out again since it keeps all of the information I filled in the form, does anyone know why it does this? I just hope by pressing back it doesn't undo my actual entry. If something has successfully submitted, it means it can't be undone, right? The worst that can happen is a duplicate entry? I've found a way around it by just loading the MSE page I was on through my history instead of clicking back but this takes longer

Some companies disqualify you if you have a duplicate entry. I tend to only use the Ipad for C2W but if you hold your finger on the link it gives you the option to open in a new tab which means once you have successfully entered you can just close the tab and carry on.0 -
Thank you all, I finally know how to open a new page x0
