Might I be entitled to more PPI?

In the last few months, I've received calls telling me that I might be entitled to claim back PPI. I've told them that I claimed directly from my bank a few years back and they then say that I'm probably entitled to claim more because the bank would not have given me back the full amount.
Does anyone know anything about this?
