New Built - Floor Tile Grout "disappearing", to regrout or to just seal otherwise?

We bought a new built (timber frame construction) about 4 years ago, and got the bathrooms fully tiled. The problem is that the grout at the edge of the rooms seems to have disintegrated and piece by piece fallen behind/under the tiles, giving an impression of a partially free floating tiling arrangement.
My main worry now is that water will get behind/under the tiles and causing future damage. I also don't really like the current look of it.
How would I best rectify this?

Thanks,
dsab

Should never have been finished with grout anyway - silicone seal any joints.

Carefully rake out the full length of the joint. Vacuum up all the bits then apply sanitary silicone. Use masking tape for neat lines. Be ware that you should leave the joint open and just apply the sealant over the top. Do not fill the joint with the sealant.0
