I have a ESA home visit and i need someone to stay with me whilst they are there. I have just been let down by a care agency who have lost my file.
Is anyone able to help? or give me details of organisations that can help. I have rang lots of agencys before and no one wanted a one off job.

thanks

Can you not ask whoever would normally be with you?

You need to give us more information, why do you need somebody there?

If you're nervous about the assessment, the assessor will be used to visiting people in their own homes, they'll do their best to put you at ease.

You can ask CAB if they have anyone that can help. It's unlikely but it only takes a call to ask. Also if you have a CPN they may attend if they do not have commitments elsewhere.

You are safe with the assessor. They're not going to do anything to harm you.

Your other options are to try to rearrange (you can only do this once, and given that they've arranged recording and a home visit they're not going to be impressed if you do), to arrange to attend the assessment centre where there will be more people about, or to fail to attend and see if they'll accept your reasons for not attending (they may not, and then you'll have to go to appeal before your payments restart). If you're not comfortable with going out, then your least risky option is to go ahead with the booked appointment.

I'd have a think about how this might look to the assessor. If they ask the carer if they provide services often and they say it is a one off, the assessor may feel you are trying to mislead them.

Also keep in mind that the carer will not be able to help you should you need to go to appeal, they won't act as a witness for you.

I'm still not sure what benefit paying a stranger to attend will have. All you're doing is doubling the amount of strangers that you have to discuss difficult issues with.

Only if it's been arranged. If an assessment is recorded without them knowing and they find out, they'll stop the assessment.
