PAYG lost phone help

I have been stupid and let my phone run our of charge, popped it down and one of my monkeys have walked off with! I can't find it in the chaos which is my house, and I need that number as its the number i advertise for work. Is there any way i can buy another cheap phone and get a new sim?? its orange if it makes a difference

As far as i know if, you buy the same network sim card and you have already told them you have lost your current one i belive they can transfer the number to your new simcard, they used too as my friend did the same thing about 6 months ago.0

i ALWAYS forget my Pin number when i ring im totally useless, they try and help you out lol by saying oh a birthday, or a anniversary i think the last time i went through about 6 diffrent ones before getting it right and the Customer services guy was pleased lol he gave me 30 free MMS lol.0 -

You'll just need to buy a new handset and SIM and ask them to transfer the number over, only problem is, it could take up to 30 days to transfer. You could ask them to set up a divert for you on your old number to your new number while you wait for the transfer to go through. Doesn't cost anything for a divert. :-)0

Rubbish the Orange system simply sends out a SIM update usually straight away and the old account including credit, settings will be on the new SIM!

I said it COULD take up to 30 days... lucky you for knowing so much better. I was trying to help. Not that it matters that i've worked 3 yrs for 2 different mobile companies, they all have different attributes don't they... I only said COULD take up to 30 days and the divert thing was simply a suggestion INCASE it took that long. Just suggestion - like you... don't rubbish it.0
