In the mid 1990s two unlikely new cookery stars appeared on our screens, Clarissa Dickson Wright and Jennifer Paterson, with their hugely original programme, Two Fat Ladies. We are giving away a copy of the series on DVD to five lucky winners.
Acorn Media is delighted to announce the DVD release of the fantastic BBC cookery programme, on 8 October 2007. This four-disc set contains all 24 episodes as shown on BBC Two between 1996 and 1998.
Armed with a wealth of fresh ingredients, a Triumph Thunderbird motorcycle and a healthy disregard for diets, the two fat ladies, Clarissa Dickson Wright and the late Jennifer Paterson travelled the length and breadth of the country, learning new recipes and getting into all sorts of hilarious adventures along the way.
Despairing at the state of British cookery, Clarissa Dickson Wright and Jennifer Paterson made it their mission to reintroduce the hearty recipes that Britain was once known for, ignoring any mention of calorie counting, all the while indulging in rich, creamy and meat filled dishes. Their approach proved popular, with the programme becoming an enormous worldwide success, particularly in the United States of America.
Featuring a tribute to Jennifer Paterson, who sadly died in 1999, this collection of all the Two Fat Ladies' television programmes and recipes carries on their legacy and ethos: To live life to the full and enjoy whatever you eat.
Competition prize:
We have a copy of the entire series on DVD to give away to five lucky winners.
