OMG Prize Shockers

We all love to win a prize. Whether it's a set of stationery voucher or a large cash amount.
But which prize as shocked you the most? A prize that you've had to sit down with the shock. Or it's even made you cry (with joy)
A holiday, new car, cash prize or a makeover in your home

Since I started comping more than just occasionally I have never been shocked by a prize, to me this would be the same as being shocked to get paid at the end of the week/month - I put the effort in and to make no bones about it, expect to win.

A few years ago I received a large brown envelope in the post. Thinking it was junk mail, was going to put in the bin without reading.

I decided to have a quick look and found a brochure full of cookers, and had a quick glance at the letter enclosed in envelope. I had won £1000 to spend on a new oven from Curry's.

As we were about to have a new kitchen installed, it couldn't have come at a better time.

A year's supply of Holland's Pies arrived completely unannounced... (Still don't know what comp it was!)
    96 of them in 7 or 8 boxes as I recall :O
I'd been meaning to sort out the freezer, but OMGF!

In April 2010. Got home from work and there was a white envelope on the table waiting for me - covered in snot where the dog had slobbered on it :o - and it should have been signed for, but the postie just pushed it through the box.
DH was groggy from finishing his night shifts and I just opened it thinking it was nothing special, and it turned out that I had won the McDonalds 'Great Tastes Of America' comp that was posted on here and I had won a trip to go anywhere we wanted in America.:T
I ended up crying in shock, and didn't stop shaking for about 30 minutes. DH soon came around after hearing the news :rotfl:
It was a tad bittersweet in a way, 'cos the day after everything got sorted with flights, hotels, car, etc, I put in my holiday request (after making sure it was okay to book off 3 weeks) I got called into the office and was made redundant there and then. TBH, I wasn't too fussed 'cos I'd only been there a few months, and it was a horrible place to work for anyway, but it did take the shine off it for all of about 4 hours.
It's my biggest win ever. We loved every second of it. :T
    Be Lucky.
