Credit card cheques

Please can someone advise me if the same protection that consumers have using credit cards also applies to using credit card cheques.

No you do not.#
In most cases they are also treated like cash advances and charged as such.

There isn't the same protection because you can pay cheques to anyone, not just merchants who have gone through some kind of checking procedure and direct debit mandating (as they would to accept payment by credit card).
