wireless router

hi. i am wanting to get a laptop and i need an internet conncetion on it. I know i need to get a wireless router, but is this:BT Voyager 2110 Turbo Wireless router compatable with AOL? And is there any other wireless routers that could be ok with AOL?

Your BT Voyager 2110 is very likely locked, so that it will only work with BT. They can be unlocked but as AOL will provide you with a wireless router, it seems a bit pointless.

The BT 2110 can be bought over the counter so it should work. I guess if it was supplied with a BT package then it may need unlocking.

I would suggest that you should be able to plug your laptop in via cable as well just in case because it can sometimes take a bit more to set up a wireless router. Mine did, so in the meantime the cable connection meant I at least had internet access.

One thing I would say, the troubleshooting on the BT site is rubbish. Not even a mention of the problems I had even though it was a basic set up issue that was listed in the instructions!
