Building Survey always better than Homebuyers Survey?

Hi All,
I'm looking to buy my first property and it is all feeing a bit dauting.
With regards to survey, am I right to think that a Building Survey is the most comprehensive and detailed? If so, there is any reason why a Building Survey would not always be the best one to have (other than the diferent costs) as it would highlight all the issues so one knows the exact state of the property instead of getting a HomeBurveys Surveys and potenetially missing something?
I'm looking to buy a 1920s semi detached house converted into two flats in the 1960s.
Any advice would be appreciated.
