BT - Haggling phone, internet, TV

Got email saying my BT Phone, Internet and TV charges would increase (again), so rang yesterday to negotiate a better deal. Got an unhelpful and rude Glaswegian operator who said my only option was a £2.50 pm increase. He made me an offer I couldn't understand . So I said I was leaving BT and called again today and got an operator who listened, and was helpful. Instead of a £2.50 increase, was offered a £3 pm reduction, so saving £5.50 pm.

I don't know why I got such different answers to the same request. But it proves it is worth ending a call and dealing with a different BT agent.

Did they tell you HOW they reduced the price? (presumably they put you on a different lower priced tariff?)

Happy with that.

Contract was up for renewal and was looking at nearer £42 til I called and cancelled. Got call back 2 days ago offering £32.99, then today offering the above.
Saves any hassles changing over.
