Work mileage reclaim
Last year I wrote to them asking for advice, sent away my forms, and then days later rang to cancel them as I realised that I wasnt eleigible to claim. They claim that theres no record of my pheon call which cancelled within the cooling off period. All thir charges and T&Cs are really well hidden on the website, and they are now claiming that I owe £360 for services to date, and have threatened to take me to court after just one letter, giving me 4 days notice to pay. They are unregulated and total cowboys seemingly, despite the shiny website and Facebook page which is worryingly positive and full of only praise. Im going via Trading Standards etc, but I just wondered if anybody else has used this company etc?

Why on earth did you rely on a telephone call to cancel the agreement you signed? You should have requested written confirmation be sent to you at the time.
I think you are really going to struggle with this if you can present no documentary evidence of cancellation, even with Trading Standards involved.0 -
Only thing I can think that might help would be if your phone bill is itemised and you can prove you called and the length of time of the call which may at least prove you did call
Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

Proof of a call being made is not proof of any cancellation, of course.Only thing I can think that might help would be if your phone bill is itemised and you can prove you called and the length of time of the call which may at least prove you did call
That's not to say that it may not be useful evidence (if available).0 -

Indeed but if the firm are denying the call took place by saying there was no record of it (depends on how they worded the response) it kills their credibility if you can prove it did take placeSam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
