Barclaycard

Good Morning, just looking for some quick advice please. I am.helping a friend of mines claim his PPI back from barclaycard as he is a bit older and can't work computers. Anyway I have read so much conflicting info. I started following the instructions on this site, filled out the letter template to get a copy of my credit agreement but when I went on to the Barclaycard website I noticed that they have there own PPI QUESTIONNAIRE.

My question is am I better sending template letters and what is says on here or am I better to use Barclaycard own form for Claiming on there site?

Any advice would be appreciated!
Also does anyone have the correct address to send the request for a copy of his credit agreement. I have found about 5 different addresses..

Thanks in advance folks :)

You do not need the credit agreement to make a claim for mis sell, the agreement will not show PPI as this is sometimes added after by a phone call, so, is of no use to you.
You can put the claim in on the Barclays website.
  • i complained via the Barclaycard web, provided no paperwork but had the card number and they paid out 3 weeks later.

  • THanks alot. My bosses son has been refused about two years ago but in fairness he sent a letter that could have been written by a 5 year old basically saying give me my PPI back 😂

Thanks again. Oh btw any other advice which may help.me is also very welcome
    :p
  • My complaint was that I was sold PPI while I was an unwaged student so wasn't eligible. I would give them the information that you hold and just be as honest as you can and if you don't know or can't remember say that. I had some of those as my answers. But I'm not sure if he has claimed before if he would be eligible to complain about the same thing again but I'm sure someone will be along to tell you.

  • I was advised they could not locate the original paperwork so suspended the account and told me to pay them. What do I do now regarding possible PPI claim?
  • Too many respondents (with different problems) to this thread. Utterly confusing...

That is because you asked for the agreement, that advice should be taken off this site.
Barclays think you are trying to get out of paying the account, ring them and explain it is a mis sell of PPI claim and you do not want the agreement, hopefully, this should sort it for you.

A common tactic (sadly unofficially promoted by this site's forum) is to try and get out of historic debts by using the tactic of demanding the credit agreement and if they can't produce it, refuse to pay. As such they are calling in whatever debt you are referring to (loan, credit card etc) as is their right. As above try and appeal to their nicer side and explain it was a mistake, don't get all huffy with them, you need them on your side

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

    Be honest.
Don't use templates off the web.
Use provable reasons for your complaint and don't be tempted to make stuff up like claiming something that wasn't true - the bank are within their rights to ask for proof of any claims you make.
If you can't remember something, say so, don't guess

  • It has never been my intention to not pay back what is owed to them. I wrote to them advising them I was unsure if I ever paid PPI but have had this card for many years. If they cannot prove I did not have any PPI claim, do I just let it go?
