John Lewis - Cancelled an order and increase the price

Bought a tumble dryer and order was cancelled 2 days before delivery, out of stock. But they also put the price up too.
Was given money back in vouchers and had to wait till the machine was back in stock to purchase the machine at the reduced price, still annoyed to have waiting a month til it was back in stock.

I'm afraid I can't even understand what you've said in your post.
Could you summarise the issue?0 -
From what I can gather you're just looking to complain to them? Personally I think it was very good of them to honor your £84 difference as most retailers would have told you to sling your hook.
Have you had the refund from them for the difference? If so what more are you after? YOU chose to wait for at least 4 weeks without buying a dryer because the hoover was out of stock. If you were so desperate you should have gone and got one elsewhere and cost JL the business.0 -
I understand I got the difference, but I would have paid £309 for the same machine elsewhere as the price increase 3 days later.
But you didn't pay that.
In this case I'd just leave it.
It's unfortunate that they took an order for something out of stock, but they seem to have done the right thing by giving it to you at the original price. Alls well that ends well.0 -
JL aren't alone in doing this. In fact just about every retailer will refund in vouchers or store credit if the original purchase was made that way.We had used £150 of vouchers toward the original order that was given back in credit to my online account so we had to buy from JL to use the credit.0 -
