BT charging for calls that should be included in plan

So decided to check my BT bills recently and noticed that I have been charged for mulitple calls to a landline number when they should have been included in my Evening & Weekend call plan!

Unlimited Evening & Weekend Calls
You'll get inclusive calls to UK* landlines, every evening and at weekends, including 0845 and 0870 numbers^.

Mon 2 May 20:49
0:06 £ 0.280

0:30 £ 0.200

Tue 28 Jun 21:03
4:53 £ 0.240

Mon 4 Jul 19:34

Wed 3 Aug 20:45

0:04 £ 0.210

Wed 31 Aug 19:27

Mon 12 Sep 21:20

Fri 23 Sep 20:15
29:19 £ 0.500

Mon 24 Oct 21:05
16:20 £ 0.360

Thu 10 Nov 19:33
14:36 £ 0.350

Tue 15 Nov 21:48
26:00 £ 0.470

Fri 18 Nov 20:22
3:18 £ 0.240

All these calls should have been free, so it would be worth checking your bills to see if BT have charged you for calls that you shouldnt have been charged for!
My calls have added up to just over £5 but if you multiply that by so many 1000s of customers then the amount starts to creep up!

Give us an idea of the codes dialled on these costs.

The costs look strange for example 12 Sep 41 minutes cost 62p. It is an awful long time since bt calls were that cheap.

Strange, 50p for over 29 minutes? To the Op you say it's to 'a landline number' as in just the one number?

    The inclusive allowance covers:
    - UK geographic numbers starting 01 and 02 (excludes CI and IoM)
    - non-geographic numbers starting 03
    - premium rate numbers starting 0845 & 0870 (except 'dial-through' providers)
for calls up to 60 minutes duration.

If you were with a different landline provider the allowance would also cover:
    - UK mobile numbers starting 071-075 and 077-079 (excludes CI and IoM).

Calls to non-geographic numbers starting 080 are free.

    What prefixes were you calling?

You appear to be paying 20p per call plus 1p per minute (or something very close to that).

When I changed to PlusNet my first bill was a surprise £9.44, instead of £8.99 (calls and caller display) and checking showed that the first call , to a landline, had been charged at 45p, but others, even to that number were zero rated.

I called and the cs person asked when I took out the calls package, as the call may have been made before that, but I explained that I'd ordered and paid for the whole package at one time.

She said it was obviously an error, whose source she had no idea of and that she would reimburse me. (all sorted)

This case is more extreme, but seems similar to mine.

Are these calls to dial thru/indirect call providers, as I believe those types of calls are excluded

Are those similar to the 'we queue for you' service?

What explanation was given for these charges?

20p per call plus 1p per minute is a very odd rate.
