Major issue with virgin mobile re debt collection

Hi all

First thing sorry if this is in the wrong place, Virgin mobile has just done something really nasty to me in getting a debt collector involved on my account when no money is needed to be paid details below.
15/11/16 date on the debt collector letter asking for £25.12
18/11/16 text from virgin mobile saying my next bill has come and £25.12 will be collected by DD
So I rang virgin saying I had this debt collector they said just throw away the letter your account is up-to date. I do this 5 days later moorcroft send me a email a personal matter one. At this point I get onto virgin mobile and tell them sort it or I go. They said they would email moorcroft and recall this account. I thought it was all over then 1 hour later moorcroft ring my home phone number the one that we try to keep away from systems like moorcroft saying I owe the debt I give them the virgin info and they go away to check it. Not heard anything else but thought I would post this to warn people about this thing that virgin mobile has done.

A quick question how should I complain about this is it serious enough to go straight to ofcom or let virgin handle it. Oh yes not heard anything from both virgin or moorcroft about this matter and the bill was paid by DD today.

  • Check your external credit files haven't got an adverse entry as a result. Yes complain - formally to Virgin and after 8 weeks to the Ombudsman if they don't resolve it (you can't complain to Ofcom).
