Car credit loan - rebate on vehicles bought for work?

I read somewhere that by purchasing a car for work through credit, there is a way to get some money back as it can reduce the amount of tax you've paid? I'm sure I followed a link through MSE onto a link on gov.uk but cannot for the life of me find it or remember exactly what it said. Could anyone help me?

  • Sounds like a salary sacrifice scheme. Does your employer have such a scheme?
  • This would be a salary sacrifice on a lease/pcp vehicle
  • Or is it that those who use a car for work and are not paid the going rate of approved mileage by their employer can claim the difference between what they receive and the official rate via income tax by way of self assessment.
