FTB is it too late to renegotiate house price after valuation?

Hi all, im a FTB with absolutely no experience or knowledge in the matter. I made an offer of £86000 on a house (originally £89950) it was my second offer as had £84000 declined. This was 15th Sep. Ca you ask the surveyor how he determined evidence of damp?

I bought a house in 2001 that supposedly had damp issues, being Victorian. I just opened the basement window open permanently a couple of inches to let the air circulate, no issues 13 years later when I sold.

I second the comments from others though, don't get a company in that has a vested interest in selling you thousands of pounds worth of damp proofing, they'll always tell you there is an issue.

I don't live in an area affected by Radon, but possibly warrants further thought depending on the level of radon in your area.
