How to protect yourself when you bought phone on gumtree
Hi all
I have just bought a phone on gumtree - new, sealed box, met the guy in person, but not in his house, got his original receipt (sort of - it was a despatch note from BT), i have screenshots of the ad on gumtree and my conversation with him by texts.
But now i am a bit worried that he will report it stolen/lost and it will blacklist the phone.
Is there any way i can protect myself from this? register it somewhere?
Many thanks in advance for all the ideas..

No way to protect yourself. If he reports it lost/stolen it will be blacklisted. Also if he doesn't pay the contract the odds are it will be blacklist.
The network won't talk to you about it as you're not their customer and they won't lift the blacklisting for you.0 -
How to protect yourself?
Don't buy products like this from people like that via those types of websites.0
