Can I manage my Lloyds Avios online without a current account?

I've had my Lloyds account since May last year but I've decided to call it a day with them. But I would like to keep my credit card with them.
It was early this year that my grandad got the Halifax Clarity card, but they wouldn't allow him to use internet banking on it as he didn't have any current or savings accounts with Halifax. It was shortly after that, that I got the Lloyds Avios for use abroad, but with me being with Lloyds anyway, I was automatically listed to their internet banking.
Lloyds and Halifax are virtually the same though, and if I was to close my current account down, would I lose access to my internet banking? I'd like to keep the credit card and set up a direct debit to another account instead. But I'd still like to be able to check my statements online

I don't know the actual answer, but you could open a basic current account/online savings account with Lloyds, keep £1 in there and move your main current account away and close your existing account.
That way you keep the required account for online banking without being tied to Lloyds for day to day banking.0 -

I might just keep my current account open then.
I do currently hold a current account with First Direct, Lloyds Bank and Halifax. But I've recently opened one with Barclays and I was hoping to move both Halifax and Lloyds over to the Barlcays one and have two current accounts. I've also recently been accepted for the Barclaycard reward card with a £3500 credit limit opposed to the £750 Lloyds Avios one. I would move over to that permanently too but I like the Avios card for abroad0 -
I have a Lloyds avios (Mastercard and Amex duo) credit cards and do not have my current account with them (and never have)
Use online banking with them all the time, no problems.0 -
You'd be able to view your credit card online but would have to set up a Faster Payment from your current account held elsewhere.
My friend has a Halifax credit card but an account elsewhere and he's been able to set up Internet Banking to view statements, due dates etc. It's not your credit score that counts, it's your credit history. Any replies are my own personal opinion and not a representation of my employer.0 -
The internet banking will work fine.
All that will happen is that your credit card will be the only listed account.
Don't keep a current account for that reason alone - switch it.0
