    F&W,

    Just to let you know...

Looks like my BG hunch was correct.

For me, the winning MSE 1-Year Collective Fix would be the:

British Gas Collective Fix Oct 2017

    Gas: 2.604 p per kWh
    Elx : 8.904 p per kWh

SC : 21.809 p per day (for each)

And, the winning MSE 2-Year Collective Fix would be the:

    SSE Collective 2-Year Fixed Papaerless

    Gas: 2.625 p per kWh
    Elx : 12.086 p per kWh

SC : 14.795 p per day (for each)

(which would cost me about £45 more per year than my 2-Year E.ON Fix.)

Like you, I imagine, I shall be staying happily put! :)

:money: Has failed to save me money on this occasion, (along with yourself and probably many others?) I'm sure i read somewhere BG were increasing their standing charges to be the same on all tariffs? That's a bit of a sting in the tail.

The BRITISH GAS Collective Fix Oct 2017 will cost me £17 a year more than I'm paying now, despite the words

"This one-year collective fix deal from British Gas is one of the cheapest deals on the market."

That's as maybe, but it's not as cheap as my two year fix.

SSE Collective 2 Year Fixed Paperless | Fixed for 24 months which will cost £19 a year more than i pay now.

It's very difficult to find the tariffs as they are so far down the lists as they don't save me money. No email either, as MSM can't save me money. :naughty:

What an anti climax? It appears the collective market is relatively stable at the moment. No huge "price hikes" and no huge savings, either. I think I've "bottomed out" too, and it's difficult to make savings. We are talking about the odd tenner.

The conclusion is, i'm probably near enough to the bottom of the market right now and I'm happy to sit this one out for the next 22+ months, if need be. Good decision. I was more than happy to take my E.on 2 year fix, with good reason. I'm sure i read somewhere too, it was E.on's first two year fix?

    Thanks E.on. :)

Mind you - EHL and Ichoosr have their collectives, soon. It doesn't mean i'm still not watching for a cheaper deal.
Fred - Where's your get up and go?

Barney - It just got up and went.

  • There seem to be just a few disgruntled with the CEC Collective.

It's worth noting if you go on to the BG standard tariff at the end of the fix, you will have very high Standing Charges.

I note the BG "free weekend" tariff also wasn't as it seemed. If you read the t's & c's, you could only choose one day out of the weekend, (not the whole weekend,) and the tariff was subject to usage ( i.e. not substantially more than normal.)

I personally have had enough of the post mortems re CEC, and why shouldn't i have? I'm in a good position with my two year fix, (which is what other people could have taken?)

It's been said I'm not not being thanked for information or it is even read? so why should i put a lot of time and effort into my posts and information when it isn't appreciated or read.

I posted on my thread some time ago, the next collectives here for those who are interested

Well, I, for one, most definitely appreciate your postings, and read them and all their links. I'm very grateful to you for taking the time and trouble to research and post them.

And your own insights and advice are invariably wise and helpful.

Don't be discouraged if you don't get a lot of clicked Thanks for them.

There will be a lot of people out there who just read them, and benefit from them, without logging in to the site.

And who can blame them? They don't want to get pilloried and drawn into arguments with people who can barely spell their own user names.

They just want to read good advice and yours is usually the best. :)

    Hang in, there!
