I priced up car hire from the airport and it came out at £28 for the whole week on a full to full. Absolute bargain.

But I decided against hiring a car this time as I looked at how much it cost to park the car at the hotels I was visiting and the cost was 15 - 25 euros per day (depending upon hotel) subject to availability. I got onto google maps to see where I could park and at one of the hotels there was plenty of parking near the beach but given it this is the mainland I knew that this would be scarce. We arrived at first hotel on Saturday and the area was very busy with no available parking.

If you're self-catering, be aware that if you use a credit card at a supermarket you will have to produce your passport.
Also pay attention to speed limits in the tunnels when you go east from
Malaga (eg to Nerja). We've had a speeding ticket sent through months later!

Hello, we went to Malaga in February and to the Picasso museum on the last Sunday (26th) but we couldn't get in for free sadly. However the Museo Revello de Toro was free.
