Had a car crash today - not sure if to report to police

That is a little bit disengenious as the Police can't refuse to accept a report.
They will, if it is a damage only accident, and there is no injury, and names and addresses are exchanged, there is no requirement to report the accident to the police. They will regard it as a 'non reportable damage only accident'.0 -
Well i cant report it in person today anyway since the police station is closed until 9.30am tomorrow so ill go then and let you know if they log it or not.
Another question about the PCP finance now: if its wrote off, i have cover for a new car of the same make model and spec. I was wondering how this would change my PCP though when it comes to giving the car back in 2 years. As technically it could be the same car but what if its a different colour
Its all with Volkswagen, insurance, breakdown and finance.0 -
Why waste your time and the police's time?Well i cant report it in person today anyway since the police station is closed until 9.30am tomorrow so ill go then and let you know if they log it or not. ......
You have been given sound advice (as well as chapter and verse).
This incident does not need to be reported!0 -
volc..
Could you see any reason for the car in front to have "slammed on in front of me"?
If not, there is a possibility that you driving into the back of it was a deliberate "crash for cash":

If you think that there is even the slightest possibility of this being the case then it's certainly worth reporting it.0 -

Vecause it was on a brow of a hill I couldnt see the traffic in front of the car in front.
To be fair to them though, they had a nice Lexus 4x4 which didn't look like your standard crash for cash thing. Quite courteous as well at the time0 -

Don't forget phantom passengers with numerous/serious injuries, that's a classic sign of crash for cash. :rotfl:0 -
Any got experience with new car replacement cover? If its a write off ill ask for that, but i was wondering how this affects my PCP finance, do the documents just get changed to the new reg?0

Do you know why the car in front stopped suddenly?
I've heard of people doing this to claim from insurance.0
