How EE (Orange) cost me £2500
I have been dealing with EE for nearly 3 years, they originally did not update there systems to say I was not continuing with a contract and was cancelled before I even had the handset. This went on as I thought it was all sorted to then find I was being chased by a debt collectors company on Orange now EE's behalf. This went on for quite some time with me chasing and calling consistently both EE and the debt collectors. EE eventually admitted there mistake and I was told it again had been all sorted, this was two days before my wedding so I was extremely stressed about this situation. Time went by and I tried buying a family home with my wife, at this point I found out that EE and put negative ratings on my credit score. Something that should never of been there in the first place and should have been removed when EE admitted their mistake. Long story shorter, bank declined my mortgage application for a new family home due to my credit rating. My wife and I had to pay nearly £2,500 early repayment charge of a previous small flat to buy our family home. After looking at properties for a ling time the reason we paid this was to not loose the house of our dreams. I then took this issue up with EE, where communication was extremely poor to none existent for some time.
Eventually I was contacted by the right person at EE to settle this horrific situation for once and all, I was told to provide evidence from a mortgage advisor that the situation was as I have stated, which I did. I was then given in writing confirmation that a cheque would be in the post for the £2500 within 21 days. Surprise I was then contacted to say no this was not the case by EE, and EE wanted further evidence going back against our agreement. I endeavoured to get this information from the banks for EE but as the team within the bank that I applied for the mortgage with was no longer in service I could not get the detail they wanted. However the evidence I did provide all together is full and indisputable that this actually happened.
I have not got any compensation or any letter of apology from EE to this day.
Please stay away from EE, their customer service in non existent and even when you think you have things in writing they still go back on this.
All of this through my wedding, buying and moving into a new house and having continued health issues more that a little stressful.
I have been to ombudsman, don't get me started on that experience, £100 compensation they concluded, insulting I think to accept that as their findings.
