Completed Item Searches - Prices All Wrong (conspiracy theory)

Don't no if it's been commented on, on here.
But anyone else noticing that searches on completed items are showing incorrect sale prices?
On many completed sales the price showing on the search page is not the actual price it sold for. When you click on the actual listing you get the real price. It seems on some listings the sale price is being recorded a few minutes before the auction actually ends.
Call me an old cynic but is it a coincidence that ebay.com have launched a service where you pay to have access to 2 months of previous sale price info in a given category.

Ebay seem to be on a mission to give people as less information as possible.
I remeber the days when you could view 30 days of completed items, it's now only about 2 weeks and yes most of the prices are all wrong unless you click on them.
IMO limiting the search power protects shill bidders and non tax payers which is more profit and less hassle for ebay. I reckon that is why they limit the information.0 -
Drives me up the wall.
Thanks greenguy for raising this issue...guess the will claim its a glitch!!0 -
I found this the other week, just put it down to another eBay glitch
I guess it so you pay them for the market research tool

The 'Completed Items' list has been showing some wrong prices for at least a year - so eBay aren't exactly rushing to put it right! :mad:I only exist in my own mind - if you can see, hear or read me, you are a product of my imagination.0

Noticed this myself a few times very annoying.
I think the plan will be to charge for compleated listings in the near future

I have also noticed that my own 'completed listings' are not displaying properly. They havent updated for about 5 days, meaning I dont look like I have sold anything for that time. ALso, I dont show in general search completed items.
I have contacted ebay and asked them to sort it out, but no progress yet.
