I need a rant please bear with me.
Why when you list a phone and clearly state it's for auction and not buy it now and even highlight this in the listing , do people still ask for a buy it now price.
In frustration i answered one earlier from some one with no feedback saying the buy it now price is £3,456,786.25 plus postage.
They responded with :
first of all that last answer was fake it should be around £329 and i want to also say is the phone real because the picture came off the internet?
I have just replied :
Good afternoon, The last answer came from the sheer frustration of timewasters constantly asking for a buy it now price when i clearly state it is for auction only, i really can't see why people cannot understand this and simply bid up to what they are willing to pay.
Yes the phone is real, please check my 100% feedback. Yes , the picture is from the internet showing you what phone it is, the one i am selling is brand new in original packing please feel free to ask for a picture of the exact same phone if my feedback is not reassuring enough, maybe i could take a kidnap style photo with a copy of todays newspaper in the background to further prove that the phone is alive and well and ready to be liberated upon payment.
Also i would like to say ...I notice that you have no feedback and so i will be as cautious as you obviously are and will not accept bids from you unless you can send me a picture of the actual money that you intend to pay with. Have a nice day

Nice one wolvesinwales! By the way, what is your BIN price? :rotfl:0
-
my favourite is when they ask you what your BIN price is and you reply what are you willing to pay? And they just NEVER reply! They must have really wanted the item then!0

I have it on listings and in my FAQs but still get them all the time. I usually say that they will get it for less bidding on auction than I will accept as a buy it now.
I am also an auctioneer offline and we occasionally get items that don't get a bid, frequently people come up to me after the sale and say "I was going to bid on that lot, so how much do you want for it?", the odd thing is that had they bid on it in auction they would have got it for a low price.
The customer is always right, unfortunately they're not always bright!:p.0 -
Maybe my tolerance levels were at a low point after a 12 hour night shift and only 3 hours sleep.
The original numpty has not replied but i have had another message :
Hi, I am interested in this phone and will pay you £100 for it, many thanks.
Simply bid £100 on it then and see if you are the winner ,no need to tell me in advance, many thanks.WHOOOOSHHHHHHHHH……..

i usually tell them the top retail price (ie harrods) i can find, then insist on payment via a postal order.
that usually sorts them out.Get some gorm.0
