Planning permission

Hi all,
I am planning to extende the garage attached to my home further back into the garden
It will not be blocking light ways to any one so do you think a planning permission is needed?
Don't think building regulation approval is needed
It is my frist home and I am quite naive. Would you apply directly to council for planning permission or would you go through a third party which there is tons of them on websites offering to fill the form in a way to help with the application

You'd be best having an informal chat with your council and not paying out to a third party straight off.
Planning permission encompasses more than light.0 -
You might not need planning permission. Understand Permitted Development.
