I just been refused a load by Northern Rock
I checked my ctedit report and my score was 834 and my score category is FAIR.
Just need to know what basically were the reasons why me being refused.
Firstly in terms of account info on my report my accounts are all kept in order apart from 2. One from a catalogue company and another from NEXT. Although i paid my monthly charge late i paid it 10 days ago but it still says it's 2 months late on the status history section i.e 2,1,0,0, etc.
The catalogue account is up to date however a few motnhs ago the status history was 1,2,1 etc.
Was this why i was rejected as i see no other explanation electoral roll, alias etc?
I earn sufficiently more than all my outgoings put together inc the loan direct debit from Northern Rock if i were succesful.
With this credit score would i be succesful with other loan providers. I required 4000 btw without loan protect, Would that of made a difference if i opted for loan protect?

No but you have answered the question here.
are all kept in order apart from 2

Northern Rock are a Prime lender and with the way the market is at the moment any sort of adverse or missed payments are just being refused by the high street lenders

    Johnny,

As Butlers said, your problem is probably your credit report and changes in the market.

Have you tried your own bank who may know your credit history and credit worthiness and be prepared to overlook one or two late payments?

You could try somewhere else but opt for loan protection. Because this is so profitable to banks they are more inclined to accept customers who opt for it. Just make sure you cancel the insurance within 14 days - it is a rip off - and they can't withdraw your loan or increase your interest rate if you cancel it straight away.

    Good luck.

Smile :), it makes people wonder what you have been up to.

What next step do you think i should take?. I heard that failed applications end up on your credit report so i dont want to apply to anyone until i get accepted.
I will opt for the payment protection when i do and cancel it if i am able to me thinks.
One thing i notied is that GE money provide lians and the one and only store card i have pays to GE money so could this benefit me that i have a direct Debit with GE Money already?

Check your credit reports to make sure there is nothing adverse.
Although searches do show up on your credit report it doesn't actually indicate whether you were declined or not - indeed you may have applied for a loan and decided not to take it out.
I agree with Rafter, applying to your bank is probably best - I've done this with my own bank Natwest and didn't need to take out insurance.
