P4 Parking & TNC letters HELP PLEASE

Good afternoon all,

I was hoping for some help, I live in London, I received a 'Parking Charge Notice' for parking in the wrong bay outside my own home, and in my eyes the Parking Charge isn't worth the paper its printed on, as iv been told my many this is basically just an invoice and doesn't need to be paid.

Taking this on board I ignored the parking notice but since to receive 3 letters, one of them threating me for court action, again I ignore all of this and have not had any letters now for atleast 2 months, until today, I received a phone call ' NO CALLER ID' asking for myself, he (TNC) told me if I don't pay by close of play today I will be taken to a small claims court, im sticking by my guns, ignoring them all, but has anyone else had a similar encounter, I have no idea where they got my number from.

no idea who told you this but it has not been true since october 2012 due to POFA2012 and Beavis lost in 3 courts in the last 2 years

as you have ignored the letters so far you are at an impasse, at debt colector stage,. so please read the NEWBIES sticky thread near the top of thyis forum to see what you SHOULD HAVE DONE , plus read post #4 about debt collectors like TNC (who have no powers to do anything other than harass you)

also read this thread about debt collectors as well

    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/5035663

in future , appeal DO NOT IGNORE

as for your questions , THOUSANDS of people have ignored these letetrs and been in the same position as you, hence the debt collector posts and threads I asked you to read

there is no "help" because of your actions, its passed any help unless you receive an LBC or an MCOL in the next 6 years
  • What hasn't been true since 2012? Paying a Parking notice? What exactly did they lose in court? I don't have a clue about any of this, I know I've passed the stage of appealing because I have ignored for so long, but I know not to for the future, but all my question is do I have anything to worry about?

Ignoring has not been a viable option for many PPCs since POFA came into force back in 2012 and nobody has advised anyone to ignore for all but the handful of non-affiliated PPCs since then!

Your range of remaining options are outlined in the Newbies Sticky, which is kept right up to date so you can easily appraise your options when dealing with these sharks.

everything you stated in post #1 is not true, not correct, a crock

I suggest you do more research on this as there are millions of words wrote about it

in short , the PPC which is P4 Parking could take you to court, or instruct a solicitor to do so, this has ALWAYS been the case but has happened a lot more in the last 3.5 years , with maybe 40 thousand claims per annum at the moment in the small claims court system (MCOL)

think Judge Rinder without the theatrics and that is what you MAY face

all those people who told you it cannot be enforced - IGNORANT people who should not be advising you on the law , especially not since POFA2012 came in in oct 2012

you have a lot to learm , I agree, so google it , do some reading on the Barry Beavis case ( 3 courts in 2 years , County Court , Court Of Appeal , Supreme court where he lost last november 2015)

a debt collector cannot take you to court, but a PPC or solicitor can , and they DO as well

but P4 may not do so, but you still face 6 years of harrassment , letters , phone calls , text messages , for these outstanding invoices

Same advice as other threads like this one:

TNC are a nasty, pushy debt collector so it falls under 'ignore the debt collectors' stage in post #4 of the NEWBIES thread. Block them on your phone.

  • Hi all, really could do with some advice. I have also received a ticket from P4 Parking however they have incorrectly logged my vrm on the pcn.

    Does this void my ticket?

Or could they refer back to their Photo which im guessing they've taken and re issue me a ticket...

    Please help

If they use the VRM they've recorded, someone else is going to get a surprise through their letterbox.

They can alter the VRM, but it will be difficult for them to pursue the keeper as the details of NtD (Notice to Driver - windscreen ticket) and the NtK (Notice to Keeper - through the post) must be identical. Important therefore not to identify the driver.

Nothing should be received through the post until between 28 and 56 days after the parking event. Wait to see what comes through the post.

Do not be tempted to phone the PPC to query the incorrect VRM.

Read the newbies FAQ sticky in preparation for anything arriving in the next month or two. The sticky has been written by one of the country's foremost private parking experts.

You must start your own thread for any future advice. Please don't hijack other poster's threads.
