Win A Trip To Europe
1.The draw is open to the UK and ROI only and entrants must be aged 18
or over at the time of entry.
Winner’s guest must also be aged 18 or over upon entry.
The Winner and their guest must have valid passports enabling them to travel to the chosen destination.
2.The draw is not open to members or employees or
their immediate family of River Island, their subsidiaries,
associated companies, agents or anyone connected with the draw.
3.No purchase necessary.
4.No alternative cash prizes.
5.The draw will open at 11.00am (GMT) Friday 22nd April 2016.
To enter, you must complete the entry form at http://www.riverisland.com/winatriptoeurope or by completing the data entry form on the leaflet and handing it to a member of store staff.
6.Closing date for entries is 4.00pm (GMT) Friday 20th May 2016.
7.There will be one winner,
who will be drawn at random from all valid entries
received by the closing date.
8.The winner will receive:
Prize – A Euroventure interrailing trip around seven European cities in 14 nights for the winner and a friend.
The prize also includes a River Island Gift card for
the winner and their friend.
The prize will include:
- Standard class return Eurostar tickets from London to Paris or Brussels.
- After Paris or Brussels, standard class train travel to six further cities chosen by the winner.
- Fourteen nights’ accommodation in hostels chosen by Euroventure,
based on shared dorms with other travellers.
- A £500 River Island gift card for the winner plus a £250
River Island gift card for the winner’s guest.

*The Winner may decide how to spread the allocation of
nights across the trip,
with a minimum of one night in Paris or Brussels at the start of the trip
and a further thirteen nights to spend in Paris, Brussels,
or across six further cities of their choice.
The Winner may, at their discretion,
decide to reduce the number of nights or cities
but may not increase them beyond the scope of this prize.
The choice of cities available to pick will include:
Amsterdam, Barcelona, Belgrade, Berlin, Bratislava, Brussels, Budapest, Cologne, Copenhagen, Dubrovnik, Florence, Geneva, Granada, Hamburg, Interlaken, Lisbon, Ljubljana, Lyon, Madrid, Milan, Mostar, Munich, Naples, Nice, Novi Sad, Oslo, Paris, Porto, Prague, Rome, Salzburg, Sarajevo, Split, Stockholm, Valencia, Venice, Vienna, Zagreb and Zurich. Euroventure may, at their discretion, consider alternatives proposed by the Winner.
Euroventure will pick the order of the cities that best fits a sensible route and reserves the right to propose amendments to city choices, if Euroventure feels that the route is impractical due to the number of train connections needed, or impossible to carry out within the time frame available. Euroventure will consult with the Winner about the journey lengths in advance of the route being set and also reserves the right to reject any journey between two chosen cities which is more than seven hours in length.
If the route chosen by the Winner involves night trains,
the number of nights in hostels will reduce so that the total number of nights away is always 14.
Where night travel is involved,
Euroventure cannot guarantee a bed on the train if the service in question has limited availability or does not offer couchette carriages.
Euroventure limits the total number of night trains on the
trip to two journeys.
9.Euroventure reserves the right to reject any city choice
where the proposed dates of the visit to that
city would clash with a festival, trade show,
conference or event which significantly raises the costs of accommodation and/or reduces its availability.
Examples include, but are not limited to,
Oktoberfest in Munich, Las Fallas in Valencia
and King’s Day in Amsterdam.
10.Euroventure also reserves the right to amend the route or the cities chosen if for reasons beyond Euroventure’s control it becomes necessary to do so, such as strike action, civil unrest, border closure, and force majeure.
11.The prize has two routing options. After leaving Paris or Brussels, the Winner and their guest may use their remaining allocation either to create a loop and take the return leg of the Eurostar to London, or they may decide to end their trip at any of the available cities and arrange their own travel back to the UK at their own expense. If the Winner and their guest decide end their trip at ones of the available cites and make their own way back to the UK, no refund, cash alternative or otherwise will be made for the unused return Eurostar allocation. The outbound and return leg of the Eurostar must be to/from the same city.
12.In some cases, the Winner will be required to pay city tax at check-in. Since the laws governing city tax are different across Europe, Euroventure cannot guarantee that the Winner will not be required to pay city tax upon check-in. Euroventure is not responsible for any cost incurred by city tax due at the accommodation.
13.Travel insurance, transport to/from the Eurostar in London, flights, airport transfers, meals, drinks, personal expenditure, visas and ESTAs for the Winner and their guest will not be included in the prize and must be organised by the winner and their guest prior to travel. It is the responsibility of the winner and their guest to ensure that their passports are valid for the whole duration of the trip, plus any extra immigration requirements imposed by the countries they are visiting on the trip.
14.The prize draw will take place by 5.30pm (GMT) on Tuesday 24th May 2016 and the winner will be contacted by email on the same day.
15.The winner must claim their prize by 5.00pm (GMT) Friday 27th May 2016. How to claim details will be provided with the winners’ notification.
16.Only one entry per person will be counted as a valid entry. Responsibility cannot be accepted (and River Island shall not be liable) for lost or delayed entries due to technical faults.
17.The trip must be booked no later than 10 weeks before the intended departure date. Euroventure will then send the winner a trip summary document by email, detailing the agreed dates of departure and the spread of cities. Euroventure will consider the winner’s written acceptance of the trip summary document as final, and no further changes to the trip will be accepted by Euroventure. The winner’s acceptance of the trip summary will automatically assume the winner’s guest’s acceptance.
18.The trip must be booked no later than 30th November 2016 for the latest available trip would start ten weeks later on 8th February 2017. The prize excludes the following dates: 24th December 2016 – 1st January 2017. In the event that the winner is not available to travel at the specified times, River Island reserves the right to award the prize to an alternative winner.
19.No alternative prizes will be awarded. The prize is not transferable in the event of fraud, abuse, and/or an error affecting the proper operation of the promotion, including the allocation of more prizes than are available.
20.In the event a winner fails to claim a prize within the time limit or is otherwise disqualified from the prize draw, that prize will be withdrawn and the entry will be void.
21.Events may occur that render the draw itself or the awarding of the prizes impossible due to reasons beyond the control of River Island and entrants agree that no liability shall attach to River Island as a result thereof.
22.The winner and their friend acknowledge that they may be required to take part in post- event publicity.
