Selling Jewellery

I have some expensive rings to sell and was wondering if eBay is a good route in getting back what they're worth?
I have contemplated selling to a pawnbroker or someone who buys second hand jewellery (if anyone can suggest any in Manchester it would eb appreciated).
I have the receipts and insurance valuations but just wondering of the best route, worried about selling them on eBay due to their value and the potential of attracting scammers.

Depends on your definition of expensive.
Anything over a few hundred, and I'd be wanting cash on collection (or bank transfer... for the trusting few). No paypal thank you very much!My TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j0 -
They're worth about £1k each2p off is still 2p off!0

Thanks all, spoke to a jewellers on the weekend and he said I won't get anywhere near the value by selling them to a pawnbrokers (kind of guessed as much) and that eBay would give me a much better price.
Guess I'll do it for cash only and keep my fingers crossed, I have insurance certificates and receipts so hopefully won't lose out too much...2p off is still 2p off!0
