Help - Good advice required
I lost my 6230 about 6 weeks ago (didn't have it insured Doh!!!!!) and the excess on my home policy is about £100 with the increased premiums when I renew in June. I'm about 7 months into a contract with Vodafone Anytime 100 through CPW and am looking for a new phone (with 6230 spec phone) and try to wriggle out of my existing contract with the minimum of cost. If I keep my number it would be a bonus but not essential.
I spoke with CPW and offered to renew my contract early and take a minimum of 18 months out, but they were not in the slightest bit helpfule (guess where I won't be going back to in a hurray).
Can anybody out there point me to a good deal and method to leave the existing contract with a minimal dent in my wallet.

After 6 months you are normally allowed to change your Tariff.1.Call your airtime supplier tell them you want to reduce it to the lowest tariff. Then pay it off monthly, dont forget to cancel after the minimum term is up. 2.Then take out another contract.(One of the dangers of these longer 18 month contracts is if you lose your mobile, and it aint covered.)PF.0

I find that if I have an unhelpful member of staff, I phone back and invariably I get a result! If not, I ask to speak to a supervisor and that I find is a good move. You should never accept the first answer you get.
Hope this helps.

I am not sure why you think someone at CPW is being unhelpful here!!!
Arm loses his phone. He hopes that by extending his contract they will replace it.They want, and nor will any other network come to that.Unfortunately once you have taken a mobile contract out there is virtually no chance of getting out of it or altering the original length, unless they alter the terms and conditions. After all if you dont insure it its not there thought is it.
The best one can do in unfortunate circumstances like this is to keep your losses to a minimum.
This is one of the downsides of 18 month contracts that are coming out, some of the new contracts want even allow you to reduce your tariffs. You have to keep it on the tariff you took it out on for the duration, they do howecver allow you to increase your tariff!!!!.So read the small print folks.PF.0 -
The OP didn't like the answer he received so I suggested that he try another member of staff. I didn't say that anyone was right or wrong. I was just offering another way of looking at it as the OP was justifiably upset.0
