Anyone waiting for mortgage offer?

Me and my partner have just submitted our mortgage application :),

A few funnies we may have to deal with. Her credit rating was hit slightly by taking a cc/2x current accounts/mobile 4 months ago and isn't on the electoral roll. Inquired with the underwriters they said it's OK.

Also had what appears to be significant spend on my card, but these are work expenses I'll get back. Hope that doesn't hit our affordability checks!

Fingers crossed they accept us anyway :). It's first direct. So I know how choosey they are...

We will be! MA rang last night with updated rates and we have decided to submit a full application to Santander today! He thinks will take circa 2 weeks, let the nervous wait commence !

Yup, DIP was approved and valuation came back satisfactory. Currently with the underwriters and nervous as hell! If we are lucky we'll hear something by Friday or early next week.

Had our second valuation for our second mortgage application yesterday... now just waiting to hear if the bank will lend us the amount we offered on the house! Feels like we've been holding our breath for the last 3 weeks over it. Hoping tomorrow will be the day we actually find out if we're able to relax or start from scratch with a different house!
  • Fingers crossed for you Lorien! Sounds you've already been through enough with the first mortgage application. So did your first valuation come back negative?

We were worried about our mortgage valuation coming in under our offer price as we offered 13k over asking (I'm sure that sounds crazy but that's London for you). But we got lucky...

    Yes, good luck Lorien!

We also paid over the asking price (12k over), but valuation came back at exactly what we agreed to pay, just like yours Andreas! We are now waiting to hear if we get offered the mortgage, and should hopefully know by tuesday next week. Extremely nervous! Once we get it, will be alot happier, but then we have a wait for our sellers to buy somewhere, as they still don't have a property yet.

Thank you! Seems like forever ago that the rug got pulled out from under us and our dream house got undervalued by 40K!!!

Seems that even though we're buying in Essex, the guy that did the valuation was based in Cambridge so has no clue about the area we're looking to buy in!

The company who carried out the second valuation yesterday though is a lot more local, so we will at least get a more fair valuation! Whether or not it's what we're wanting, we're still waiting with baited breath!
