Let go through ill health

After being off for nearly 7 months with ill health my partners work are going to let her go , she already has had an application for esa fail, will she now be entitled to jobseekers allowance ? We are not living together at present .

    Why did she fail ESA? If she is jobseeking then JSA may be an option but the criteria for claimiing uses the same financial criteria.

  • She should be able to claim JSA if she is not living with you unless she has significant savings. If so she should at least be able to get income related JSA.

    She can appeal her ESA or reclaim, but be aware that she will have to have a medical assessment and jump through hoops. If she has health problems could she claim PIP?

    Its a skin complaint she has , recurring ulcers all over her body, sa refused because she could walk , raise hands and perform functions like boiling a kettle ect, even though she is in constant pain.
    Her doc is obviously saying she is unfit for work and providing lines .
    Her work have been great but are letting her go
