what are my options

my brother who is my mothers carer has been in hospital for the the last two weeks and is still there when he gets out he will need a lot of time to recover .my problem is i must stay of work to look after my mother and get no wages from my work where do i stand

    Your brother has to inform the DWP that he is in hospital and no longer caring for your mother, if your still employed you won't qualify for the carers allowance, you may qualify for income related benefits which take into account a live in spouse/partners income and savings.

    Who has looked after her for the last 2 weeks?
    Can you not survive from some of your savings for a couple of weeks?

    If employed but on no income, why couldn't they claim carers?
