I had home insurance for about 7 years. I forgot to renew last year, so we have been uninsured for almost a year. Do no claims bonus have to be continuous. Do I have to quote 0 no claims bonus, or 7 years?

With Home Insurance they generally don't ask you to send in no claim discount proof from previous Insurers. Many Insurers don't offer an official discount, but they want to know how long you have not had any claims.
The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.
