what sort of solicitor should i look for ? - buying freehold

The freeholder of the building my flat is in is planning on selling part of the freehold to me . What sort of solicitor should i employ ? should i employ one that specialises in leasehold enfranchisement or should i employ one that specialises in the buying or selling of homes.
On a second point, do i have to pay the legal fees of the freeholder as well as my own or is he responsible for his own legal fees ?

An actual solicitor who does conveyancing over a conveyancer would be my choice.
You will be asked to pay the freeholder solicitor fees.Currently studying for a Diploma - wish me luck

the leasehold advisory website has a list of solicitors who specialise in this field. I recently started the process to purchase my freehold and when I phoned around for quotes I found that not many solicitors would take it on. In the end I went back to the solicitor who originally did the conveyancing when I bought the house - he quoted £400 plus vat.
I phoned one of the names on the list from Leasehold advisory service and they quoted £1000 plus vat. When I told them the quote I already had they agreed to match it - so be prepared to haggle the price!0 -
i thought about this but the original solicitor i used has left the company that he was in when i used him to buy the property. As far as i can tell the company now uses a conveyancer for property purchases.
