Right another update, there never was a letter, after spending quite a long time on the phone tonight speaking to these people the only letter ever issued was the original letter saying about earning more in the tax year etc, there are no notes or damn all on the system and the advisor doesn't know what to do. He saw the over payment but thats it nothing else.

So what exactly are we supposed to do? I might be wrong here but I think someone has seen a balls up has been made and not by myself and is trying to back track

Not really sure what advice we can give you, we can't see your claim or know exactly what has happened.

Who have you been speaking to, the normal helpline or the compliance officer that was dealing with your claim?

If they've made an amendment to your claim then it should have produced a new award notice to show the changes made.

Don't see how their has been a balls up. You agree that the income was wrong on your claim and they have now corrected it. You just don't agree that it's your error.

The compliance officer tells you nothing and the tax credit helpline have no information, The compliance officer has an attitude problem, I asked why I have not received any letters regarding this "Oh I can't comment on that" I explained that I had told them about the error in wages "Oh I can't help with that" Thats what you're up against, doesn't give a rats, and the helpline told me off for phoning so much :( Well perhaps if you would listen and give me some answers I wouldn't have to phone all the time.

But anyway the CAB has now stepped in as they think I have a case so have to call in tomorrow to sign some authorisation forms so may be something will come off that.
